2 Erie region businesses earn customer service honors - GoErie.com

A pair of companies doing business in Erie are celebrating honors from J.D. Power and Associates.

Erie Insurance Group, based in Erie, and Northwest Savings Bank, which has its headquarters in Warren, both have been recognized for customer satisfaction by J.D. Power, a global marketing information services company.

Erie Insurance outperformed 10 other insurance companies to rank No. 1 in the Mid-Atlantic region in customer satisfaction, J. D. Power announced Monday afternoon.

The ratings are based on customer satisfaction with price, policy offerings, billing, payment and claims.

In this region, Erie Insurance took top honors, followed by State Farm, Nationwide, Travelers and Progressive.

Geico, known for its lizard-led advertising, ranked seventh.

Meanwhile, employees at Northwest Savings Bank will be taking to the streets in Warren today to celebrate the arrival of the trophy marking the bank's third consecutive win for customer satisfaction in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Steven G. Fischer, executive vice president of banking services for Northwest, called the third trophy "an amazing honor."

It's an honor, he said, "that comes from the people we serve, the people who are the reason our company exists."
