Xperia S owners, here?s a solid reason for you to rejoice! Google?s?Jean-Baptiste Query, aka JBQ, who?s responsible for maintaining the Android Open Source Project, has announced that the two companies will be releasing stock, plain, vanilla, untouched, unadulterated Android for the Xperia S.
?
JBQ has kicked off a Nexus-like upgrade process for the Xperia S, involving the community and there?s a reason for this. JBQ says that the Xperia S is a ?powerful current gen GSM device, with an?unlocked bootloader?and a company that has been?very friendly to AOSP? .?Surely, those last couple of bits are important. It makes the device more developer friendly, and the fact that Sony has only mildly customized ICS and that it has released Beta/Preview versions of its updates to the general public.
I know a couple of Xperia S owners who?ll be really happy to hear this. And I know most of the Xperia S owners would be happy as well.
